A New Beginning
What started as a simple idea for one illustration, has evolved into a complex world complete with a lively cast of characters.
Trothia is my very first passion project, and I hope truly to make it into something many others can also enjoy and add onto.
The World Of Trothia
Gao
The Trothia System revolves around the star, titled appropriately as Troth. In total there are eight major celestial bodies.
Gao is the very first planet that orbits Troth. This small planet is nearly completely covered in Sand! This desert planet can reach temperatures as high as 120 °F during the day! However, as soon as the sun goes down things cool down immensely.

Lup and Zal
"The Lovers"
These two planets not only orbit Troth, they also orbit each-other! Forever inseparable, Lup and Zal are the same size with very little differences. The main difference however, is the fact that both male and female sexes are separated at birth. Lup is the male dominated planet, while Zal is the female planet.
To keep up the population, a festival is held where the women of Zal are permitted to visit Lup. This is known as The Crossing Festival, and is treasured by the locals.
Sadly, a month after the initial day of the festival visitation between worlds is strictly forbidden. Due to this restriction, same sex couples are extremely common on each planet.

MieLara
The homeward of Trothia, MieLara is the planet where 'Dreams come true'. The Grand Council of all of Trothia reside here.
Being the most populated planet, MieLara is home to dwellers of every background.
Solea
Solea is the moon that orbits MieLara. (It is slightly smaller than our real world Earth.)
While not much is known about it, it is public knowledge that The Council has built both a research center and some sort of greenhouse on it's unique soil.

The Lara Reserve
Home to the many students of Lara University (LU), this artificial planet has been nicknamed "A Piece of the Planet".
While LU offers many extensive classes and majors to choose from, the pride of the college is the focus on MieLaran and Solean Biology. There's even a small zoo on campus!

The Contact Hub
Each planet's council representative need to communicate somehow, especially with the length of space travel. This is where the Contact Hub comes into play.
On the pole(s) of each planet stands an antenna/antennas. This allows for communication through an advanced satellite system, and at the very heart of connection lies a Gao sized radio station.
This effective system is used for much more than simply political decisions however; The Hub is home to hundreds of operators, managers, DJ's, and radio show hosts."
All Hub inhabitants are provided their own living quarters, rations/meals, clothing (If needed), and of course companionship of like minded folks. This is encouraged further by each dorm room being capable of holding four people.

TYCOM Station
What started as an engineer's passion project has evolved into Trothia's main space shuttle port. TYCOM is 100% artificial, created from an abundance of metals and plenty of workers.
This hunk of machinery is home to many, including shopkeepers and businessmen, engineers and mechanics, students and interns, and even a boot camp full of Trothian Military personnel!
TYCOM is also the place to go for any official paperwork one might need to have on hand. Pilot's licenses, social security cards, passports for other star systems, and even annual taxes are produced and distributed here.

Llurniece
(Yur-Neece)
The largest planet in the system, Llurniece is home to the holy people. This planet prides itself on strong faith and cleanliness.
What stands as Llurniece's antenna is also known as 'The Shrine'. The planet's ruler, High Priestess Daisy, as well as every upperclass nun and bishop reside here.
Where The Shrine towers over marks the capital city of Llurniece, Sedmikráska. (Or Sed, for short.) Aside from the capital city,
Llurniece villages are very akin to suburbs and cul-de-sacs. Most others know this planet's people to be very generous, courteous, and kind.

Trothia's Heroes
What's the point of all these worlds without characters?
(All Text is the same as the descriptions on the original drawings)

Imeldan (Dani)
Widefoot
As the eldest sister to four younger brothers, Dani prides herself on being good under pressure.
Selfless, confident, and sometimes stuck in her ways, Dani's future at Evedern seemed bright. That was...until wind of her double life sprung free. Beer? Wrestling? Brothels?!
She was kicked out asap. From now on, Dani's life is her's to live.
(In a relationship with Rina Ergella)
She/Her • Lesbian • 22yo
Rina Ergella
She/Her • Lesbian/ • 165yo
Demisexual
With years of captivity under her belt, Rina lives life to the fullest with her new found freedom.
She's always had an unspeakable amount of empathy for others. Being held against her will and drained of her power to benefit others will do that.
Rina loves nothing more than the moon, her only beacon of hope for centuries.
(In a relationship with Imeldan (Dani) Widefoot)

Emelia Harris
She/Her • Bisexual • 250yo
The most gentle of giants, Emelia uses all 320 pounds of herself to help others. Charismatic, Foul Mouthed yet Kind; The immortal healer carries an unspeakable amount of burdens.
Oliver Folas
He/Him • Homoflexible/ • 25yo
Omnisexual
A party never truly starts until Oliver arrives. Always full of life, the half-elf never runs out of party tricks.
With his Shape-Shifting abilities, he is the king of shadow puppets. Bo staff in hand, Oliver seems to perform during battle rather than fight. It makes sense, there's no better dancer in all of MieLara!

Ama Sade
(Ah-Ma, Say-Duh)
She/Her • 8yo
The laughter of the group, Ama uses her musical abilities to boost her friend's moods, and health. Being under the wing of Emelia, Ama dreams of performing for the entire Trothia System.
Concept Art
The last thing I'd like to showcase on Trothia is the concept art!
I spent many, many hours deciding on character designs, planet designs, story, and worldbuilding.
The previous short descriptions definitely don't do all of it justice!
Rina and Dani
All of Trothia began with an idea to draw two women in love. Rina and Dani were created to be together, this was the first sketch of the both of them together.
I later on ironed out their designs and continued to create more characters!

Rina's Backstory
From there, I had a very good idea of how I wanted Dani to look. So I drew her final design which is showcased above.
I hadn't decided fully how Rina should look, so I went into where and why.
I had decided Rina's tears and magical healing abilities. And these tears were harvested and sold against her will by her father.
She was kept in a bird style cage for years, and had a barcode tattooed onto her for pricing.
Pretty dark, but that's just the backstory, it isn't where the main storyline begins.

Rina's Animal Companion
I felt that some sort of animal companion would be very fitting for Rina.
Knowing that Rina is an ovarian elf, a flying animal only made sense. Paired with Rina's deep connections to the moon Solea, I narrowed it down to two choices. A Bat, or a Luna Moth.
Even after comparing and contrasting the two, I was still torn. So, I had a crazy thought...Why not both?
Hence, Thodenus was born! Both bat and moth his species was named appropriately as The Bamoth!
Emelia's Backstory
When creating Emelia, all I had really known was that I wanted her to be from the coupled planets, Lup and Zal. A law I have not mentioned is the fact that leaving planet after the age of 18 is strictly forbidden. Luckily Emelia was able to escape.
Due to an unfortunate series of events however, she was left with the curse of immortality as a price for her untimely leave.
Aside from a strange upbringing and immortality, Emelia's troubles had not ended there.
On Gao she had been inducted into the systems most dangerous crime group, The Violet Flowers.
These criminals make their profit by distributing Lunar Narcotics, made of a flower that grows exclusively on Solea.
Emelia had been the boss' right hand man, the muscle of the gang.
This sketch is how she looked when she was part of The Flowers. She had been known as Scarlet back then.

Becoming a Gentle Giant
Eventually, Emelia does leave the gang. This is when she meets Ama, and begins a journey of self discovery.
She vows to never use her hands for evil again, and learns how to heal others instead of harm.

The Comic Relief
I knew I wanted at least one male member in the cast of characters for Trothia. So I used a sketch I had drawn for fun as a base design.
Oliver is easily the most laid back of the group. I definitely had the most fun drawing his sillier sketches.
I've never actually designed a shape-shifting character before, the possibilities are truly endless!

The Addition of Ama
If I had to boil down the main thing that I love about coming up with characters and storytelling, it's the use of juxtaposition.
Coming up with Ama was a freeing experience because at that point in time I thought I was finished coming up with the main characters. In other words, she was entirely for fun.
Ama is the youngest in the group by far, yet she's as strong as the rest of the party.
After a large fire erupted in her home village, she became an orphan. Luckily, Emelia was there to take her in.
The first drawing shown here is of Ama, showcasing her quick wit. While the second is what I imagine she will look like when she ages. (22yo to be exact.)

In Conclusion
Trothia is my greatest creation up to this point. I am extremely proud of everything I have done to contribute to it thus far.
If you have read this far, I thank you from the core of my being. This project inspires me to go into the industry greatly, in hopes to one day make something tangible out of it.
Thank you
